Is the end date counted?

No. The calculator uses the [start, end) convention — the start date is counted, the end date is not. So 4 May → 11 May covers seven calendar days, Monday through Sunday. To include both endpoints, add one day to the end date.

Why aren't holidays prefilled for my country?

Holidays vary by country, region, sector, and year — and they shift when an authority moves a public observance. We don't bake in a list because we can't honestly keep one accurate for every reader. Paste the holidays that apply to you (one date per line, YYYY-MM-DD) and the count is yours, not ours.

Which weekend pattern should I pick?

Sat & Sun is the default and matches most Western, EU, Americas, India, and East-Asian work weeks. Fri & Sat fits the work week used across much of the Gulf and several MENA states. Sun only fits some sectors and historical conventions where Friday and Saturday are working days. Pick the one that matches the work week of the people the deadline applies to.

Does it handle reverse date ranges?

Yes. If your end date is earlier than your start, the calculator returns negative counts so the sign tells you the dates are reversed — it does not silently swap them. Flip the inputs to read a positive count.

How is this different from Date Difference and Hours Between?

Date Difference counts every calendar day, including weekends and holidays. Hours Between handles intra-day clock-time questions, like the length of a shift. This calculator is the right tool when you need working weekdays — SLA deadlines, contract notice periods, payment terms, and turnaround promises.

The calculator walks day by day from your start date to the day before your end date and bins each one into business, weekend, or holiday-excluded. The convention is inclusive of the start date and exclusive of the end date — 4 May → 11 May covers seven calendar days. To count both endpoints, add one day to the end date. A holiday is excluded only when it lands on a working weekday inside your range; weekend dates take precedence so a holiday that falls on a Saturday is not double-counted.
