How It Works

Formula

W=52V+H5W = 52 - \dfrac{V + H}{5}

Sannual=Rhour×h×WS_{\text{annual}} = R_{\text{hour}} \times h \times W

Rhour=Sannualh×WR_{\text{hour}} = \dfrac{S_{\text{annual}}}{h \times W}

Calculation method explained

Working weeks per year = 52 − (vacation + holidays) ÷ 5. From there, annual salary = hourly rate × hours per week × working weeks. The reverse direction divides annual salary by the same denominator to back out the hourly rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I count vacation days in working weeks?
Enter the paid days off you want excluded from working time. The calculator subtracts (vacation + holidays) ÷ 5 from 52, using five workdays per modeled week.
Why do the example time-off numbers differ?
They are only examples. Enter your own vacation days and paid holidays so the working-weeks estimate matches the setup you want to model.
Is this gross or net?
Gross. The calculator does not subtract taxes or other deductions. If you need an after-deduction estimate, adjust the result separately.
What about overtime or bonuses?
Not included. The result only uses the hourly rate, weekly hours, vacation days, and paid holidays you enter. Add any extra amounts separately if you want them included.
Can I use this for part-time or freelance work?
Yes. Enter the weekly hours and paid days off you want to model. The result follows those inputs and does not add any separate adjustments.
